These two compositions are a reaction to the similarities between cities that I noticed on my trip to Berlin. The comparable monuments and architecture, such as the Radio City Tower, Liverpool, and the Fernsehturm (Television tower), Berlin, are evidence of the globalisation throughout the two cities. The images I have created show a mirrored image highlighting a ‘glocal’ representation; revealing the global appeal of their buildings and landscape, however retaining its sense of identity as their own cities.
The two colour schemes were selected using a colour wheel. Colours that sit opposite each other are the ones that most compliment each other, therefore this would be a fitting tribute to the similarities of the two city portraits.
