These past few weeks have been focused on the preparation of the exhibition.
I have printed 18 of my compositions on good quality A3 cartridge paper using the HP photo printer at uni. (It took 2 ½ hours to print all 18!). A3 is a good size for these images as it retains a certain sense of intimacy with the audience, while also being on a large enough scale that they can be easily analysed.

The 7 frames I have chosen for the series that will be displayed on the wall are white box frames. White frames create a neutral collection which doesn’t discolour the images. As there will be several hanging together, having a subtle colour, apposed to strong black frame, means that the eye will be drawn to the artwork rather than the frame.
During the day of hanging, we figured out the layout of the exhibition and the artworks, names and prices were discussed for each piece, and hung the work itself, ready for the opening on Tues.
